Provide comprehensive legal guidance on corporate strategic goals and major projects at both the enterprise and global level, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and best practices
Manage the company's corporate and subsidiary structures
Oversee all legal and regulatory compliance matters to safeguard the company’s interests, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations
Direct and manage a legal team responsible for a range of legal functions which may include litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, corporate governance, employment disputes, and investment matters
Serve as a key strategic advisor to senior leadership on legal matters and business initiatives
Provide expert guidance on complex legal issues and help shape business strategy from a legal perspective
Ensure adherence to all pertinent laws, regulations, and corporate policies
Lead initiatives for attracting, retaining, and developing a high-performance and agile legal team fostering an environment that supports professional growth and continuous improvement
Develop and oversee the succession planning process for top leadership positions to ensure organizational continuity and effective leadership transitions
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school
10+ years’ experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading and motivating, cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals
Leadership experience in a corporate, government or law firm environment
Deep knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
Experience handling complex legal matters and identifying and managing business risk
Excellent negotiation skills to manage complex deals and agreements
Strong planning and organizational skills to align legal strategies with business objectives
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of general business operating policies and procedures
Advanced analytical skills to develop and implement new policies and procedures
