Job Summary

The Senior Value Analysis Service Line Analyst is responsible for leading the Value Analysis process for designated categories across the healthcare system.  This position will execute the role through expert contractual, supply chain knowledge and leadership skills with the goal of system alignment and standardization to optimally meet the supply needs of our patients, physicians and clinicians in a responsible steward-based manner.  Under the direction of department management and in collaboration with key stakeholders, the Senior Value Analysis Service Line Analyst position will execute upon an annual work plan and serve as a supply chain expert in the Value Analysis process of achieving optimal cost, quality and outcomes to medical products or services. This position will lead the activity around leveraging analytics to inform value analysis and sourcing/contracting strategies (e.g., benchmarking, industry/market analysis, spend analysis, contribution margin analysis, cost/benefit analysis).

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Required to be certified in one of the four following within 12 months of hire: 1-Certified Project Management Professional/CMRP (AHRMM-Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management); 2- Lean Six Sigma Certification; 3 -Value Analysis Certification (AHVAP-Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals); 4 - Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree OR Seven (7) years of supply chain / value analysis related experience. 

  • Minimum Experience: The minimum qualifications listed above, (along with education/experience) are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully.  Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain or related fields OR seven (7) years of supply chain, value analysis, business, project management, or other related experiences.

  • Strong project management and performance improvement skills. Ensures exceptional relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills that translate into strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to interact with individuals across all departments with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles. 

  • Expert level knowledge/skill with Microsoft Suite Products, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be proficient in the use of project/program management principles, methodologies, and tools along with industry-leading processes improvement standards.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects related to a successful Value Analysis Committee meeting; including but not limited to leading and facilitating meetings, agenda development, ensuring appropriate stakeholder invites, securing meeting rooms, providing visuals for reviewing requests and facilitating discussion.  Responsible for and coordinates the activity around leveraging analytics to inform sourcing/contracting strategies (e.g., benchmarking, industry/market analysis, spend analysis, contribution margin analysis, cost/benefit analysis)

  • Responsible for data analytics and oversight of full financial analytics development for projects within Value Analysis. Utilizes benchmarking, reviews industry best practice and other initiatives to achieve cost savings and increase quality outcomes

  • Responsible for documenting and tracking ongoing projects as well as reporting out of committee goals against implemented activities.

  • Manages product conversion and implementation activities which stems from decision out of Value Analysis Committee, partnering heavily with multiple groups including all departments of Supply Chain, clinical education, and patient care providers. This position focuses on optimizing supply chain processes, facilitating change management, and delivering value to the organization

  • Manages service line specific cost savings projects, including those identified by GPO's, Distribution Centers, and locally contracted vendors.  Develops, evaluates, and manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and builds relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders

  • Utilizes project management skills, process improvement tools and industry-leading standards to train and educate health system employees in Supply Chain practices during the execution of Value Analysis projects. Track and monitor performance progress, providing regular updates and reports

  • Responsible for post-implementation support and problem resolution related to newly implemented products and applicable services including conducting look-back analysis on projects to determine their levels of success. 

  • Manages the introduction of new products to the health system using Value Analysis best practice methods while encouraging a team approach and the idea of continuous improvement in order to enhance operational effectiveness.

  • Partners closely with all clinical and non-clinical areas of the health system to identify and implement strategic advancements in an effort to improve the health of the community in all we do.

  • Manages vendor relationships and activities between Supply Chain and operational departments during the vetting, trialing and negotiation phases of Value Analysis projects

  • Responsible for the execution of Value Analysis trial contracts and the building of products within the ERP system in order to conduct trackable, reportable, and successful product trials.

  • Manages the intake of service line specific New Product Requests and works with stakeholders at all levels in order to develop an accurate portrayal of the request in a way that interconnects the goals of responsible stewardship and clinical efficacy.
