What You will do :
Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and automate detailed feature and system-level test plans for L2/L3 protocols including STP/RSTP/MSTP, VRRP, MC-LAG, LACP, L2PT, LLDP, VPLS, EVPN, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, MACsec, and CoS/QoS features.
Validate Class of Service (CoS) / Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities including traffic classification, marking, policing, shaping, queuing, scheduling, and congestion management.
Design and execute scale, stress, and performance test scenarios to validate feature stability and platform limits under large-scale deployments.
Perform system-level validation covering high scale scenarios such as large MAC tables, routing tables, EVPN/VXLAN scale, and high interface density.
Validate control plane and data plane performance, including protocol convergence, throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, and traffic prioritization.
Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test suites using Python and Robot Framework to improve regression efficiency and coverage.
Analyze complex issues, perform deep troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
Execute regression, interoperability, resiliency, and performance testing across multiple networking platforms.
Track, document, and report test results, defects, performance metrics, and scale benchmarks.
Handle critical customer escalations and complex field issues, reproducing and validating them in lab environments.
What you will bring :
Strong expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols.
Hands-on experience with CoS/QoS technologies and traffic management mechanisms.
Proven experience in scale, stress, resiliency, and performance testing of networking platforms.
Strong automation and scripting skills in Python, with experience in Robot Framework or similar frameworks.
Ability to analyze large-scale system behavior, traffic patterns, and protocol interactions.
Collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple testing activities simultaneously.
Technical Expertise
Networking Fundamentals
Strong understanding of switching, routing, and IP networking architectures.
Experience with datacenter and service provider networking environments.
Layer 2 Technologies
STP/RSTP/MSTP, MC-LAG, LACP, LLDP, L2PT, VLAN, VPLS, EVPN, MACsec
Layer 3 Technologies
OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS
CoS / QoS Technologies
Experience with traffic classification, scheduling, and congestion management, including:
Traffic classification and marking (CoS, DSCP, EXP)
Traffic policing and shaping
Queue management and scheduling (Strict Priority, WRR, WRED, etc.)
Traffic prioritization and congestion avoidance
Hierarchical QoS (HQoS) and traffic engineering
Control-plane and data-plane QoS validation
Scale & Performance Validation
Experience validating networking platforms at large scale, including:
Large MAC table scale
Large routing table scale (IPv4/IPv6 routes)
EVPN/VXLAN tunnel scale
BGP neighbor scale
High interface density and traffic throughput
Protocol convergence and resiliency scenarios
Traffic performance benchmarking under QoS policies
Automation
Strong automation expertise using Python.
Experience with Robot Framework for test automation.
Familiarity with testbed orchestration, CI/CD integration, and automated regression pipelines.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (BE/BTech/ME/MTech) from a reputed university.
7–10 years of experience in networking product validation, including feature, scale, QoS, and performance testing.
Hands-on experience with traffic generators and network test tools.
Networking certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or equivalent are advantageous.
