Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Technical Manager to provide expert guidance, strategic oversight, and technical leadership across our Workers’ Compensation portfolio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality claims management, strong compliance, and outstanding performance outcomes across the organisation.
As a senior leader, you will drive continuous improvement, uplift technical capability, influence strategic decision-making, and partner closely with internal stakeholders, including our Legal team to ensure best practice across the scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and drive continuous improvement across technical practices
Ensure claims teams meet performance and APA targets
Work with the Legal Manager to develop and implement performance strategies
Lead entitlement and forensic review activities, including fraud identification and referrals to WorkSafe
Provide technical guidance on claims management and legislation
Support claims teams to meet service, compliance and performance measures
Develop strategic initiatives and procedures to uplift performance and compliance
Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
Support organisational compliance with legal, governance and WorkSafe requirements
Review claims practices, identify trends and recommend improvements
Partner with the Legal Manager on strategies to support remuneration and performance outcomes
About You
Strong technical expertise in the Victorian Workers’ Compensation scheme
In-depth understanding of relevant legislation and WorkSafe guidelines
Experience in a technical specialist or similar senior role
Skilled in managing stakeholder relationships and competing priorities
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Strong problem-solving, negotiation and strategic-thinking ability
Proven experience coaching and mentoring case managers
