A Brief Summary of This Position:
This role is primarily accountable for supporting the Company’s global tax provision and tax accounting activities under ASC 740 (U.S. GAAP). The position will focus on gathering, validating, and analyzing tax data from international subsidiaries; preparing quarterly and annual consolidated tax provisions; supporting the calculation of current and deferred tax positions; and ensuring technical accuracy aligned with evolving U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and global tax frameworks. The role will also assist with select aspects of international indirect taxes as needed, while partnering closely with treasury, accounting, legal, and divisional finance teams to drive timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.
The incumbent will collaborate extensively with the International Tax team, divisional accountants, external auditors, and tax advisors. A key accountability includes reviewing local-site tax provision inputs, reconciling uncertainties, and ensuring alignment to corporate reporting standards. Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 principles, global tax developments, and entity-level tax drivers is essential to ensure complete and accurate tax accounting outcomes.
Responsibility for preparing local income tax filings at international subsidiaries will continue to reside with divisional and local controllers.
Essential Functions:
- Reporting to the Sr. Manager of International Tax with no direct or indirect reports, while operating as a core business partner across the global tax team.
- Support the preparation, review, and consolidation of global quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax computations.
- Analyze foreign subsidiary tax data, including earnings, taxes paid, local statutory provisions, temporary differences, and valuation allowance considerations.
- Manage adoption of global tax provision software; along with other Tax Provision team members.
- Assist in preparing global tax-related disclosures for SEC filings and other financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and manage external audit requests and inquiries related to global tax accounting.
- Partner with external service providers supporting global tax provision processes, data aggregation, and tax accounting systems.
- Drive process improvements across global tax accounting workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, documentation, and internal governance.
- Conduct research on global tax accounting issues, emerging technical guidance, and impacts of new tax legislation on provision outcomes.
- Participate in tax-related meetings with various levels of management, including presenting key findings, risk considerations, or changes in tax positions.
- Support special projects related to global tax planning, process transformation, structural changes, or tax technology implementations.
- Maintain ongoing technical proficiency through continuous learning—minimum of two tax or accounting seminars annually.
- Promote tax awareness across the organization, emphasizing accurate reporting and strong internal controls.
- Limited domestic or international travel.
Other Important Details about the Role:
- Partner with senior management on global tax accounting implications tied to treasury strategies, legal entity management, reorganizations, acquisitions, divestitures, and cross-border initiatives.
- Coordinate global tax projects involving cross-functional and external stakeholders to ensure accurate tax provision outcomes and smooth execution.
- Review foreign statutory tax provisions for accuracy, alignment with ASC 740 principles, and completeness of reporting.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience, or Associate’s degree with 7+ years, or 9+ years of progressive tax or accounting experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in tax accounting, global tax provision, or a related field in public accounting, private industry, tax law, or governmental revenue agencies.
- Strong understanding of ASC 740 and global tax accounting frameworks (U.S. GAAP and IFRS).
- Working knowledge of international tax concepts and how they impact global tax provision and deferred tax positions.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities with strong influencing and stakeholder-management capability.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage complex datasets across entities and jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and geographies.
- Strong internal customer service orientation; proven ability to build trust with business leaders and finance partners.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with confidence handling varied levels of management.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing principles and their implications on tax accounting and provision outcomes.
