JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Finance Manager partners with the executive team to oversee and strengthen operational accounting through effective process controls, financial reviews, and internal audits. This role is responsible for consolidating and managing companywide financial reporting and compliance, ensuring alignment with reporting requirements for the Calista Brice holding structure and Calista Corporation.

In addition, the Senior Finance Manager supports the administration and optimization of financial software systems used for reporting and compliance, ensuring data integrity and consistency across operations. This position provides leadership and supervision to finance personnel embedded within operational teams, enabling timely, accurate financial data to support decision-making, operational performance, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans by establishing clear goals and objectives that support companywide and Business Unit success.
  • Partner with the Holding Line executive team and corporate accounting to coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Manage and support operational and financial software systems to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for all Calista Brice and Calista requirements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process for all companies within the ORCS Business Unit.
  • Provide financial management support to subsidiaries as needed, including interim backfill coverage or targeted financial assistance.
  • Establish an actionable financial vision with measurable goals and track progress against defined performance metrics.
  • Serve as a key financial liaison between operating entities, the Holding Line, and the parent organization on financial matters.
  • Support Business Unit leadership by reviewing and evaluating complex project financial estimates and assumptions.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit management team to provide financial insight that supports operational and strategic decisions.
  • Provide intercompany business support within the Calista Brice Holding line of companies.
  • Obtain and thoroughly understand the financial reporting and general ledger structure of the Business Unit.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement best practices to improve financial performance, increase net income, and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Analyze financial results, compare actual performance to budget and forecasts, explain variances, and provide actionable recommendations to Business Unit and subsidiary leadership.
  • Lead and support leadership and subsidiary teams in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls ensuring alignment with corporate compliance.
  • Help facilitate vendor invoices, billings and vendor setup processes.
  • Assist in providing information required for property, sales/use, excise, and other tax returns to holding line accounting team.
  • Manage, train, and mentor personnel to include completing annual performance evaluations for each employee.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting practices, including experience with audits and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques for identifying issues, opportunities, and process improvements in financial data.
  • Understanding of short-term and long-term business strategy formulation and implementation.
  • Awareness of laws and regulations governing financial practices, business operations, and corporate governance.
  • Knowledge of financial risk, Surety Bond exposure, and managing financial liabilities.
  • Understanding of business unit contracts, negotiation processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of tracking, reporting, and managing capital expenditures and asset divestiture.
  • Familiarity with estimating, reviewing, and managing project financials.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, compare actual results to budget forecasts, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong skills in preparing, directing, and managing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with leadership teams, subsidiaries, and stakeholders across departments.
  • Skilled in identifying issues, proposing solutions, and driving process improvements based on financial data.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, support subsidiary financial management, and manage relationships with business unit leadership and external partners.
  • Proficient in coordinating financial estimates, overseeing project budgets, and ensuring project financial success.
  • Expertise in generating financial reports, including SBA reporting, audit results, and capital asset expenditure summaries.
  • Capable of managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data with precision and ensure all aspects of business unit’s financial heath are accounted for.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and complex business environments, particularly with evolving regulations and financial processes.
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations, with an emphasis on making data-driven decisions that align with business goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and accounting software (e.g., CostPoint, Spectrum).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree may be preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other relevant financial certifications are a plus.
  • Six (6) + years of experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis supporting multi-entity or business unit structure.
  • Knowledge in construction operations and federal, state, and local reporting requirements (SBA, DBE, 8(a)) preferred.
  • Proven experience managing annual budgeting processes.
  • Experience supporting accounting, finance, and project control functions required.
  • Previous experience in contract management, including oversight and compliance responsibilities.
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s driving policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
