Senior SWQA Test Developer – Automotive Traceability and Compliance Platform

India, Pune Full time

Do you enjoy driving high-quality automotive engineering processes and building tests / tools that help teams meet automotive compliance standards? If so, we are looking for a talented, experienced engineer with strong knowledge of automotive development processes, ASPICE, ISO 26262, and verification workflows, who can lead tool enhancements and ensure process alignment across teams. This role is central to maintaining and evolving an automotive traceability and compliance platform that generates safety letters, customer reports, and engineering evidence end-to-end by integrating data from tools such as Jama, DOORS, Jira, and other lifecycle systems. As a Senior Test/Tools Developer, you will work across process design, tooling strategy, test workflows, data accuracy, and compliance readiness, ensuring teams can reliably demonstrate traceability and audit readiness.

You will partner closely with engineering, program management, safety, and quality stakeholders—capturing requirements, evaluating feasibility, managing priorities, defining roadmaps, and driving execution as the Person in Charge (PIC) for this tool and its related processes.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the process definition, enhancement, and compliance alignment of traceability and reporting workflows following ASPICE and ISO 26262 expectations.

  • Own the strategy and execution for “Tests, release & compliance tools and reporting systems”, ensuring correct, complete, and audit-ready data for safety/customer letters and compliance artifacts.

  • Serve as the PIC for the internal release & compliance tools — driving requirement clarification, change management, defect triage, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Manage and refine workflows in Jira, including backlogs, sprints, dashboards, metrics, and team coordination for small to mid-sized teams.

  • Collaborate with engineering, safety, and quality teams to ensure accurate traceability mappings, verification completeness, and high process maturity.

What we need to see:

  • B.Tech. or equivalent degree in CS/CE/IT/ECE/EEE or related field with 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, testing, processes, or tools development.

  • Strong understanding of ASPICE, ISO 26262 concepts, and automotive development & verification workflows (requirements → design → implementation → test → release).

  • Experience working with Jama, DOORS, Jira, or similar ALM/PLM tools, especially for requirements management, traceability, and verification tracking.

  • Proven ability to lead small to mid-sized teams, work with diverse stakeholders, and drive process alignment and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to break down complex process topics into actionable steps.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Hands-on web development skills with Angular/React (or similar), Node.js/NestJS, TypeScript / Python, and MongoDB/SQL for enhancing internal tools.

  • Understanding of or experience integrating lifecycle tools (Jama/DOORS/Jira) using REST APIs, GraphQL, or CLI automation for data synchronization or reporting pipelines.

  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows including GitLab/Jenkins CI, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployments (AWS preferred).

  • Prior experience owning an internal process/tool/platform—creating roadmaps, planning sprints, triaging issues, and delivering improvements end-to-end.

  • Strong presentation and leadership communication, including demoing features, writing clear technical summaries, and aligning multiple teams on process improvements.
