Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

SUMMARY

As a senior engineer for supplier quality, you will support the supply chain organization and the supply base with the planning and execution of processes designed to improve overall supplier performance (quality, delivery, and cost) for Power Towers operation, a JLG company based in Leicester. This role will interface with individual buyers and the European Supplier Quality and Development team. This position will report to the SQ&D EMEAI Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Drive the maintenance and implementation of standard work procedures and business processes at supplier locations.
  • Identify gaps and improvement areas in collaboration with our supply chain partners
  • Validate supplier capabilities, capacity, and quality systems.
  • Address short term performance issues through 8D/SCAR and rapid containment levels
  • Apply tools from lean principal methodology to drive continuous improvement efforts related to business processes.
  • Lead supplier performance improvement plans (S-PIP).
  • Participate to the weekly, monthly, and yearly meeting and projects of SQ&D EMEAI department, present ideas, and solicit feedback to help support individual or team project assignments.
  • Lead/participate in launch readiness programs and supplier on-boarding process.
  • Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Lead/participate in both NPD and supplier PPAP validation.
  • Manage approval process of new supplier.
  • Audit New Supplier and make recommendation.
  • Support supplier selection strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 5-plus years of experience in specific areas of Quality and/or supply chain management
  • Supplier quality experience in industrial environment is mandatory for this position
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with approximately 75% being local travel and 25% within Europe

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Prior supply management leadership experience
  • Prior project management experience
  • Understanding of operations
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices
  • Knowledge and application of Supply Management Processes and tools
  • Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
  • Interpret welding symbols and understand heavy-fabrication processes
  • Ability to use and create Power BI dashboards
