Senior Storage Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Storage Specialist to implement and manage our IT storage solutions. You will play a critical role in supporting Canadian Tire’s on-premises and cloud storage strategies. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, planning, and executing, as we transition towards cloud-first solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement, and manage scalable storage solutions set by the Storage Architects.

  • Monitor and optimize storage performance and capacity.

  • Ensure data integrity and security across all storage platforms. Understand and implement Disaster Recovery protocols for Storage Platforms.

  • Support the operational team, as required, while they perform regular backups and recovery.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage solutions with existing systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Maintain documentation for all storage configurations and procedures.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in storage technology and best practices.

  • Provide training and support to other IT staff on storage-related topics.

 

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in IT storage management.

  • Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, DAS, and object storage technologies.

  • Proficiency in managing storage arrays from major vendors (e.g., DELL EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, IBM).

  • Strong programming / scripting skills.

  • Understanding or hands-on experience with backup and recovery software (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity).

  • Understanding or hands-on experience with cloud-based storage solutions (e.g., Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage).

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Experience working with third-party vendors and resources, including overseas teams.

  • Ability to lead troubleshooting and problem investigations across multiple teams and technologies to solve issues effectively.

  • Strong focus on relationships, collaboration, critical thinking, supporting of other teams, and have growth mindset.

  • Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven capability to execute multiple streams of work simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Innovate new ways of working with AI and automation, while fostering experimentation and accountability.

Our typical hiring range is between $64,000 and $106,000 Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
