This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly.
The Senior Spare Parts Coordinator (Para‑Professional & Support Path) is responsible for managing spare parts inventory to support production and maintenance operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, optimizes material flow and storeroom operations, supports procurement and vendor management activities, and ensures parts availability to prevent downtime, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Specifics Include:
Manage spare parts inventory to support uninterrupted production and maintenance activities
Receive, inspect, store, issue, and transfer spare parts while maintaining inventory accuracy
Manage inventory transactions and spare‑parts data in CMMS and ERP systems
Monitor inventory levels and proactively address shortages, excess stock, and abnormal usage
Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and root‑cause analysis for discrepancies
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with warehouses, transportation, and internal partners
Generate purchase orders and support procurement activities for spare parts and services
Coordinate vendor follow‑ups, expediting requests, and overdue deliveries
Support repair, return‑to‑stock, and external repair processes
Maintain compliance with GxP requirements, SOPs, and documentation standards
Use barcode scanning, mobile inventory tools, or RFID technologies for real‑time tracking
Maintain organized, safe, and efficient storage areas using 5S principles
Identify and implement process improvements to increase inventory accuracy and material availability
Communicate clearly with maintenance, engineering, and production teams regarding part availability
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience in spare parts, maintenance storeroom, inventory control, or supply‑chain operations
Basic understanding of procurement, purchase orders, and vendor coordination
Experience supporting cycle counting, root‑cause analysis, and inventory adjustments
Experience with Maximo, SAP, or similar enterprise systems
Background in inventory management and support of maintenance and engineering environments
Familiarity with barcode/RFID or mobile inventory tools
