Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for coding software applications based on business requirements and plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust solutions to support the pharmacy dispensing platform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Assignments typically involve moderately complex to complex issues, requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The role demands effective coordination with both front-end and back-end dispensing teams, collaboration with product teams and internal and external stakeholders, and close partnership with Site Reliability Engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal system performance and reliability. This is a hybrid position where individual will work remote, but be expected to go into Louisville office 2 - 3 times a week.

The Senior Software Engineer standardizes quality assurance procedures for software, oversees testing and debugging activities, and develops fixes as needed. The engineer begins to influence departmental strategy and makes decisions regarding technical approaches for project components, often without direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Key responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable solutions within the pharmacy dispensing ecosystem. The Senior Software Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams—including front-end, back-end, and infrastructure groups—to deliver high-quality solutions. Engagement with vendor-supported dispensing sites ensures seamless system integration and support, while close collaboration with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and infrastructure teams proactively addresses system reliability, performance, and scalability. Additional duties involve contributing to CI/CD pipeline development, automation, and deployment processes, integrating and optimizing systems using cloud-based technologies, and ensuring adherence to best practices for code quality, security, and compliance.
