Senior Software Engineer, Backend Java

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a leading, fully regulated US-based digital asset trading platform. The platform provides secure, low-latency access to cryptocurrency markets, serving as a bridge between traditional finance and the Web3 ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs that power the core trading platform.
  • Work with distributed systems and microservices architecture to handle thousands of transactions per second with low latency.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and reliability in a highly regulated financial environment.
  • Explore and implement blockchain technologies, including node syncing, client tooling, and multi-chain integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: product, DevOps, security, compliance, and analytics.
  • Contribute to system architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices, mentoring peers and driving technical excellence.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and experience with distributed systems.
  • Experience in performance optimization, low-latency systems, and microservices.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance in regulated financial environments.
  • Interest or hands-on experience in blockchain, crypto infrastructure, or decentralized systems.
  • Strong collaboration and mentorship skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
