The Senior Social Media Editor will join a new team within the Transaction department at People Inc. and will be responsible for the launch, creation, execution, and strategy of all social media content to market and build an audience for a new product. This role requires someone who is passionate about social media content, social media marketing, and shopping. They will craft content and guide the strategy to acquire and engage followers, and turn them into loyal users. This role will report to the Head of Marketing.
Your day-to-day:
Develop and own the social content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging platforms
Own and maintain the daily and monthly content calendar, aligning social storytelling with broader marketing priorities
Oversee content creation, publishing, and optimization across all social channels, ensuring consistency in voice, quality, and performance
Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to brief, develop, and execute social content and strategies
Identify growth opportunities through platform insights, cultural trends, and performance data
Analyze channel and campaign results, delivering weekly reports with actionable recommendations
Conceive, pitch, and star in original content and recurring franchises for social channels
Manage at least one direct report, providing clear direction, feedback, and development support
Drive audience growth, engagement, and brand visibility across all social platforms
Contribute to content creation by pitching, writing scripts for, filming, and editing short-form video along with writing captions and copy when needed
This position is hybrid in-office.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
A social media expert with 5+ years of experience in social media marketing or a related field
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Experienced in managing at least one direct report
Well versed in social algorithms, trends, and best practices
Strategic and able to translate brand goals into engaging social content
A strong analytical thinker with the ability to turn performance data into growth strategies
Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; able to organize, multi-task, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
A proactive, highly collaborative self-starter that’s comfortable partnering across teams and levels
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, startup-style environment with shifting priorities

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
