Job Title: Senior Security Officer
Department: Corporate Security
FLSA: Non-Exempt
General Function
Supervises and assists security officers assigned to their respective shift. Supplements the various duties of the Security Supervisor and coordinates efforts to ensure proper staffing is in place. Maintains the continuity of security operations and assists security officers while posted. Supplements the various duties of the Security Supervisor when not immediately available and coordinates efforts to ensure proper security staffing is posted.

Reporting Relations
Accountable and reports to: AVP, Executive Security; Corporate Security Supervisor
Positions that report to you: Corporate Security Officers
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily security operations of an assigned shift for the Corporate Offices and Training & Education Center.
- Conducts routine patrols of the Corporate Offices to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Monitors the CCTV and S2 Security system for the Corporate Offices.
- Responds to all campus alarms (security/fire/medical). Conducts initial investigation, provides guidance/direction to responding officers according to emergency action plans.
- Assume responsibilities of Incident Commander to emergencies until properly relieved.
- Conducts initial training and recurring professional development of the officers assigned to the respective shift.
- Maintains the continuity of security operations of the Corporate Offices by building a working relation with office employees.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on the S2 Security System and alarms.
- Work with the Security Supervisor to ensure proper training is being conducted.
- Evaluate employee job performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Reports to work as scheduled.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
- Must have the ability to solve a wide range of practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; and interpret instructions.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to communicate well with others, to include senior management and subordinates in a way that addresses any issues.
Education and Experience
Five to eight years of similar or related work experience. Bachelor’s degree and/or related work experience in the security industry preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction.
- Must be physically able to perform heavy work: lifting no more than 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing no more than 50 pounds. Should also be able to perform sedentary through medium work.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, lifting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
This position frequently involves a fast work pace in a general office setting. There is frequent pressure to handle multiple tasks in a day and meet deadlines.
