About the Role

SoFi’s Corporate Applications team manages a portfolio of SaaS platforms that power employee productivity, collaboration, and business operations. As our environment continues to grow, we see a significant opportunity to enhance scalability, strengthen governance, and improve the reliability of the systems our teams depend on every day.

We are seeking a Senior SaaS Automation Engineer who will focus on elevating the stability, consistency, and operational health of our SaaS applications while building targeted automations that reduce manual work and improve long-term maintainability. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys optimizing systems, improving configurations, tightening governance, and creating automations that help our administrators operate more efficiently and predictably.

You’ll work closely with platform administrators, the Staff Automation Engineer, and cross-functional partners to stabilize existing systems, automate recurring operational tasks, streamline governance models, and incrementally improve our application onboarding experience so SaaS tools enter our environment with consistent, secure, and scalable configurations.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain automation workflows across key enterprise platforms, including ServiceNow, Atlassian, Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, knowledge management systems, and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Implement targeted automations that support SaaS governance—such as license cleanup flows, role audits, configuration drift checks, and automated deprovisioning.
  • Develop integrations using Workato, Flow Designer, Zapier, or similar tools to reduce manual administrative work and improve platform reliability.
  • Incrementally improve the SaaS application onboarding experience, ensuring new applications are configured consistently and aligned with security, identity, and operational best practices.
  • Audit existing SaaS platforms for roles, permissions, API keys, group structures, and misconfigurations; remediate issues and prevent future drift.
  • Partner with platform owners to standardize configurations, simplify workflows, and ensure consistent RBAC and least-privilege access models across tools.
  • Develop integrations using REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and scripting languages (JavaScript, Python).
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for SaaS platform health, anomalies, and configuration drift.
  • Document environment architecture, recurring operational tasks, best practices, and platform governance models.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, GRC, Procurement, and business stakeholders to maintain consistent configuration, compliance, and operational integrity across SaaS tools.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize workflows, integrations, and system behaviors to improve performance and reliability.

What You’ll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in SaaS engineering, automation engineering, systems integration, or IT operations.
  • Experience managing, configuring, or supporting SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Okta, or Atlassian.
  • Hands-on experience with automation/integration platforms such as Workato, Flow Designer, Zapier, or Moveworks.
  • Experience developing automations that enhance governance, security, and platform stability.
  • Strong understanding of RBAC principles, permission models, identity lifecycle concepts, and SaaS configuration best practices.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and scripting languages (JavaScript, Python).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to work through complex system behaviors and configuration issues.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across admins, SROs, and technical teams.
  • Ability to execute with moderate guidance and take ownership of stability and cleanup efforts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building configuration drift detection automations or SaaS health monitoring.
  • Background in SaaS license management automation or optimization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for automation assets or version-controlled workflows.
  • Experience improving or documenting application onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow or Atlassian JSM for request automation and governance workflows.
