What we want
The Senior Research Scientist will be responsible for the supervision of IBT’s Immunopharmacology and Targeted Therapeutics Laboratory and its operations. Serves as the Principal Investigator of the Clayton Foundation research grant “The Immunopharmacology and Targeted Therapy Project”. Engagement with IBT faculty in collaborative extramurally funded research.

Required Education and Experience
PhD Pharmacology or related science.
Eight years of experience working in biomedical research.

Responsibilities
Leadership Activities
Serves as Director and provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for IBT’s Immunopharmacology and Targeted Therapeutics Laboratory (ITTL).
Leads the Clayton Foundation funded “The Immunopharmacology and Targeted Therapy Project”.
Develops and implements long‑term research priorities, and performance goals.
Ensures compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of research integrity.
Cultivates partnerships with academic, clinical, and industry collaborators, including research groups within the Texas Medical Center.
Research Activities
Oversees and conducts complex independent and collaborative extramurally funded research.
Applies advanced expertise to develop, refine, and execute research. Analyzes research data and summarizes findings.
Prepares and writes reports, manuscripts, and publications.
Participates in the development of grant proposals.
Education and Mentoring
Supports post-graduate training programs of the IBT. Assists with supervising staff.
Presentations
Serves as a subject matter expert in their domain.
Prepares presentation materials on research topics that may be presented to small and/or large groups. Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
