About this role:
Wells Fargo’s Commodities group is seeking an Executive Director, Power Trading & Origination to build its power trading desk.
The individual will be responsible for managing the operational build-out of a financially-settled and physically-settled power desk, with an initial geographic focus on US markets (including PJM, ERCOT, MISO, CAISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and SPP). As products are launched, the individual will also be responsible for hiring a team for the sales and trading activities of the power desk. The position will require close coordination with Wells Fargo’s quant, legal, tech, credit, market risk, and compliance partners to successfully launch products associated with power trading, complementing its existing financial and physical trading desks for energy, metals, and softs.
In this role, you will:
Identify the origination, modeling, portfolio management and all risk management including compliance and operational risk.
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex initiatives that require an in-depth evaluation.
Complete work in accordance with all risk management, compliance and business process expectations.
Provide vision, direction and expertise to more experienced leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
Make decisions requiring solid understanding of policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
Conduct due diligence and portfolio administration as necessary and provide research on relevant industry trends.
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor.
