Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that fo-cuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialization and deployment.
We are looking for a Senior Research Scientist to look after the VFT-NTU IAF-ICP fundings for packages WP4 and WP5. The role will focus on managing, supervising and providing guidance to the research teams and ensuring that they meet the objectives of work scopes. The candidate has to ensure that the tasks are accomplished according to schedule
Key Responsibilities:
To manage, supervise and guide the research teams in WP4 and WP5.
Ensure that the research outcomes meet the objective of VFT.
Liaise with the management of the stake holders.
Hold regular meetings with the team members to ensure work is being carried out as schedule.
Help in preparing RFQ for procurements of components and equipment.
Track and manage expenses in the project.
Keep records of the progress of WP4 and WP5
Job Requirements:
PhD (for Research Fellow and above equivalent) degree in power electronics, power engineering or related field
At least 20+ years of relevant experiences in research management and technical hands-on experience in power electronics, power engineering and energy storage.
Familiarity with industrial products’ standards and certifications, grid connection codes of different countries, etc.
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in power electronics circuits, field buses, communication networks, power engineering simulations, embedded C and Python programming.
Competent in soft skills / general personality traits e.g. information visualization, interaction design
Interpersonal skill (e.g. Ability to work independently / develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details / excellent organizational / time management skills)

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Possesses international experience, with a strong network of contacts in the region.
