SPMS is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager (Pastoral Care & Support) to support student wellbeing, development, and engagement. You will provide counselling support, manage wellbeing initiatives, and play a key role in student life activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Pastoral Care & Support
Provide counselling and wellbeing support to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of case management interventions, including case logs and reports.
Conduct regular check-ins with at-risk or vulnerable students.
Support students with special education needs (assessment accommodation, emotional support).
Liaise with University Wellbeing Centre & external counselling services.
Implement and evaluate student wellbeing programmes and follow up on at-risk cases.
Process student-related administrative matters (LOA, withdrawals, reinstatement, academic status).
Student Activities Oversight
Oversee SPMS Graduate Students Club activities and manage related administration in compliance with NTU policy.
Manage the SPMS peer tutoring programme.
Coordinate SPMS Yearbook production.
Provide administrative support for student activities (venue booking, claims, vendor liaison).
Staff Engagement and Other Duties
Support school-level staff engagement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other related human or behavioural sciences.
At least 3 years of relevant working experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the higher education sector (preferred).
Experience working with youth, preferably in school or educational settings.
Proactive, with strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
Good documentation, reporting, and outcome-tracking skills with attention to detail.
Resourceful and flexible in adjusting and responding to changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and implement programmes, events, and/or student engagement activities.
Able to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
