Senior Representative, Planning & Purchasing Logistics

Spain - Moncada - Valencia Full time

We recently announced plans to expand in Spain by building a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Moncada, Valencia. When it becomes operational in 2026, the plant will manufacture Edwards' surgical and transcatheter heart valve replacement technologies and will join a global network of more than 16,000 talented team members and five other production plants. Our new facility in Moncada will welcome up to 1,500 dedicated team members by 2029 across manufacturing, engineering, and several other professional career paths. Hiring for professional positions has started and will continue through the winter and early spring, with specialized training for manufacturing hires beginning in the fall of 2025.

How you will make an Impact:

  • Manage all Import and Export activities for the manufacturing site

  • Co-ordinate all inbound and outbound freight via 3rd party carriers, including interfacing with SC and Warehouse teams to ensure right parts picked up / dropped off at right time, to the right location. Organize expedites, as required and work with business partners to improve planning and optimize freight were possible. Work with Regional SC to optimize transportation modes and maintain policies and procedures for logistics activities.

  • Work with sending locations (suppliers / other plants) and in-house warehouse team to ensure accurate / on time completion of associated paperwork. Audit documents for accuracy and completeness, requesting missing information as required. Work with warehouse team to ensure files are maintained for audit purposes.

  • Co-ordinate SC Inventory Management Routines a) Cycle count process – creation / management of schedule, approval of counts and monthly accuracy reporting, b) ABC analysis and associated JDE coding, c) Monthly Inventory analysis and reporting, d) Quarterly E&O report generation, analysis and consolidation, including aging & shelf-life reporting, e) Hold location reporting and f) Ad-hoc reports and presentations

  • Lead Edwards manufacturing site Duty / Trade Compliance activities, liaising with Global Trade Compliance Team. Establish and maintain Taric Code List for Edwards manufacturing site and provide same to the Customs Clearance Broker. Establish processes with SC buyer/planners to identify and review part, sub-assembly or Finished Good changes (NPD or ECR) which may require Taric Code updates and process same in a timely fashion. Ensure timely resolution of any queries associated with inbound shipments. Lead and train staff to ensure all shipments meet relevant customs / trade compliance requirements.

  • Validate and approve all invoices from inbound freight forwarders, including review of internal cross charges from other Edwards originating plants. Complete JDE transactions as required to authorize payments and provide visibility wrt in-transit shipments. Investigate and resolve claim disputes from freight forwarder as required.

  • Develop robust processes with 3rd party freight forwarders and customs clearance broker, establish management routines with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Work with Global Supply Chain team to ensure routing guides are in place / up to date. Support the Supply Chain NPD activities, identify any new freight requirements and work with 3rd party carriers to establish new lanes / modes and associated rates as required. Ensure routing guides are updated accordingly.

  • Partner with SC (Indirect Buyer) to execute annual RFQs with 3rd party carriers and agree rates for coming year for inclusion in AOP. Support Warehouse Manager in establishing annual freight budget and tracking adherence to same, highlighting gains/misses as relevant and working remedial actions with carriers as required

What you will need (Required):

  • 10 years experience in Logistics (Freight / Trade Compliance) OR

  • Diploma or equivalent in Business / Supply Chain, 5 years experience in Logistics (Freight / Trade Compliance) OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Supply Chain, 3 years experience in Logistics (Freight / Trade Compliance)

  • Knowledge in trade compliance and most countries customs regulatory requirement

  • Good knowledge of Logistics, in particular freight management and associated practices.

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Power Point, Word, ERP systems (e.g. JDE) with ability to navigate vendor portals. Access Database and Reporting Writing skills will be advantageous.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

  • Strong negotiating and supplier management skills, including dispute resolution.

  • Ability to develop compliance processes and procedures.

  • Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Lean / Six Sigma skills will be advantageous

  • Ability to execute data analytics
