Your role at Clorox:

Provides enterprise aligned quality leadership for the Burt’s Bees Raleigh Plant by building and developing high-performing Quality teams, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance, and leading Quality Control, Laboratory, and integrated Quality Management Systems to embed quality ownership into plant operations.

In this role, you will:

1. People Management & Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing QA/QC organization and foster a strong culture of Quality across the plant.
  • Set clear expectations, coach talent, and ensure effective training, qualification, and performance management.
  • Develop quality capability across cross‑functional teams through partnership, coaching, and influence.
  • Promote accountability, ownership, and continuous learning at all levels of the organization.

2. Compliance, QMS, Lab, QA/QC, DCU, Validation & Qualification

  • Own and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements.
  • Provide oversight of QA and QC operations, including laboratory activities, batch disposition, material controls, and documentation control (DCU).
  • Govern change control, data integrity, and Good Documentation Practices across all quality records and systems.
  • Lead validation and qualification programs (process, cleaning, equipment, utilities, and systems) to maintain a state of control.

3. Strategic Future & Partnership with Plant LT

  • Provide strategic quality leadership aligned with plant and enterprise business objectives.
  • Partner with the Plant Manager to integrate quality into operational strategy, capital planning, optimizing QC, QA and Environmental programs and site roadmaps.
  • Ensure quality requirements are embedded in capital projects, new technologies, and facility upgrades.

4. External & Internal Audits Program

  • Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory, customer, third‑party, and corporate audits and inspections.
  • Lead audit preparation, execution, response, and closure, ensuring effective CAPA management.
  • Maintain a risk‑based internal audit program to monitor QMS health and compliance.
  • Communicate audit outcomes, risks, and trends to site and senior leadership.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality system effectiveness, reduce risk, and improve performance.
  • Drive structured problem‑solving across deviations, complaints, OOS/OOT, and Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Develop and monitor quality metrics to support decision‑making and accountability.

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 8+ years related experience in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, foods or supplements industry (Quality Manager experience).
  • Broad working knowledge of quality systems and global regulations (i.e. FDA/GMP, 21 CFR Parts 700/701 and 210/211, ICH guidance, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements for 21CFR Parts 210/211, 21CFR Parts 700/701, Draft Guidance for Industry: Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 22716...
  • Strong leadership & Influence skills – Ability to set direction and drive results
  • Strong people management, coaching, and development skills
  • Critical reasoning skills and demonstrated ability to assess impact of planned and unplanned changes on product quality 
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a proven team player who contributes to a results focused and motivating team environment
  • Highly Flexible and Adaptable.  Able to work independently in a fast paced multitasking environment.
  •  Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong Technical Project Leadership and Project Management Skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility to travel (< 25%)
  • Minimum BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing 3rd party and FDA inspections is preferred..
  • Some Quality or Microbiology Laboratory experience preferred.

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $106,700 - $204,900

–Zone B: $97,800 - $187,900

–Zone C: $88,900 - $170,800
