Position Overview 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our Forma Data Management (Autodesk Docs) product management team  This senior role will report to a Senior Group Product Manager.   

Autodesk is searching for a product professional with outstanding analytical and communication skills to help shape the future of project delivery from design through construction and operations. The successful candidate will possess a forward-looking vision for design data integrations and workflows, strong technical acumen to guide development, and the leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams toward shared goals. 


We are open to remote candidates based in Canada.

Responsibilities 

  • Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for Forma Data Management, focusing on design data integrations and workflows. Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to inform the product roadmap

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with a wide range of stakeholders—including customers, partners, and internal teams (engineering, design, marketing, and sales)—to gather insights and align priorities. Ensure the customer’s voice is consistently integrated into product development

  • Product Roadmap: Create, maintain, and communicate a detailed, prioritized product roadmap that supports the broader company strategy, balancing short-term objectives with long-term goals

  • Execution: Collaborate closely with engineering, experience design, and other stakeholders to guide the end-to-end development process, ensuring timely and high-quality releases by removing obstacles and making critical decisions

  • Metrics and Analysis: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement. Use data-driven decision-making to optimize product performance

  • Market Research: Conduct competitive analysis and research to understand the competitive landscape and identify differentiation opportunities. Remain attuned to customer feedback, market trends, and new technologies

  • Communication: Serve as the product spokesperson internally and externally. Provide regular updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders regarding product progress, metrics, and strategic direction

  • Leadership: Mentor and guide junior product managers and team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Responsibilities 

    • Product Strategy Ownership: Take full ownership of the product strategy to address critical business challenges and deliver outstanding customer experiences

    • Initiative Translation: Translate the overarching product strategy into actionable initiatives, features, and enhancements aligned with business objectives and customer needs

    • Success Measurement: Establish clear metrics and KPIs to evaluate the success of the product strategy and ensure continuous improvement

    Roadmap and Prioritization 

    • High-Value Roadmap Delivery: Develop and maintain a high-impact product roadmap, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals

    • Prioritization and Tradeoff Analysis: Apply rigorous prioritization and tradeoff analysis to allocate resources effectively and deliver high-value features

    Stakeholder and Team Collaboration 

    • Input Gathering and Synthesis: Collect and synthesize feedback from stakeholders and customers to inform product decisions and align with market needs

    • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch

    • Business Case Development: Build strong business cases for new product initiatives, leveraging stakeholder insights and market analysis

    Go-to-Market and Feature Adoption 

    • Go-to-Market Oversight: Lead go-to-market activities with Marketing, Sales, Support, and Customer Success teams to drive product adoption and market penetration

    • Feature Enablement: Ensure new features and product enhancements are effectively communicated and adopted by target users

    User Story Development 

    • Edge Case Understanding: Anticipate and address edge cases and scenarios to ensure robust product design

    • Detailed User Stories and Acceptance Criteria: Write comprehensive user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development and guarantee high-quality releases

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management experience within the software industry, including at least 2 years in a senior role, preferably with a focus on design, architecture, engineering, or construction products.

  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry and experience with AEC design products and workflows

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree highly desirable

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data management principles, APIs, integrations, and design workflows. Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and SaaS business models preferred

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex projects to successful completion. Strong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels

  • Customer Focus: Passion for understanding customer needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations. Hands-on experience with direct customer engagement and user research

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical abilities, including proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and product analytics platforms

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $119,600 and $164,450. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
