Job Description

Lead the development and maintenance of applications and systems for the Life LOB in OMAR.

Responsibilities

a.    Application Software Road Map
Define and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
b.    Operational Compliance
Monitor and review performance and behaviors within area of responsibility to identify and resolve non-compliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
c.    Managing platform performance
Design, monitor and respond to user emails to diagnose, and correct performance issues.
d.    Documentation
Create and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high standard.
e.    Horizon Scanning
Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
f.    Applications Software Maintenance
Monitor, identify, and correct the most-complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
g.    Faults Diagnosis and Correction
Provide fault isolation and resolution for complex challenges to limit and address issues promptly.
h.    Information Security
Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.
i.    Technical Database Support
Design distribution of complex database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance.
j.    Talent Development
Execute strategy to grow talent, ensuring the company delivers on its value proposition for talent through its talent development and employee experience plans.
k.    Manage engineers and developers assigned to the team.
l.    Project Management
Manage and take personal responsibility for business-critical projects for the platform and provide support for projects affecting applications in the ecosystem.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in platform engineering, system administration, or a related role.
Expert proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and extensive experience with automation tools.
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and advanced cloud services.
Strong expertise in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide technical teams and collaborate with other stakeholders.
Certification in cloud technologies, platform engineering, or related domains.
Experience with advanced CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Familiarity with advanced monitoring and observability tools.
