Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Production Planner demonstrates leadership in planning, tracking and managing material and operational transaction flow and execution for product line assigned. Incumbent is responsible for kitting and staging of production jobs in all process areas, product tracking through all process areas, verification of correct documentation, and inventory transactions within ERP system while ensuring proper demand within MRP systems to enable on time delivery. This role is responsible for monitoring and reporting on product line capacity and capabilities to contribute to quote and order planning and scheduling within key business systems. Responsible for enforcing department policies, process control and status reporting within operations.

Schedule and prioritize materials and operations to enable on time deliveries. Support the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) function and contribute to material procurement timing initiating material ordering requests, work orders and maintain associated documentation while communicating cross-functionally on processing requirements and status of order execution
Maintain lot traceability and accuracy within ERP system on workorder and inventory transactions, review shipping documentation, verify dimensional, cosmetic and spectral / metrological test results working collaboratively with engineering. Assist in tactical problem solving to ensure material flow through factory
Coordinate and resolve logistics issues between building, operations and departments. Provide strong communication and collaboration between departments and key team members to solve complex issues and enable management decisions to improve key operational metrics
Make use of business forecast with easy to access and transparent data, collaborate with technical teams, quality assurance, customer service etc. to enable accuracy of quote and proper onboarding of new orders synchronizing customer requirements with material demand and work order execution with ERP system
Lead Continuous Improvement activities for assigned areas. Ensure resource allocation and cost targets are met on an annual basis, via influencing decision making within product line and project teams. Contribute to / lead plant wide initiatives as requested
Lead product line planning and supply chain execution within factory operations for product line of $10M+ annual revenue and 100-200 order lines per month. Drive on time delivery for repeat orders at 90% or higher and enable prototype projects to complete in a timely fashion per development timelines. Must be able to manage multiple projects and material flow for 3-6 major processing areas and between 1-3 buildings
High School diploma or GED
Green Belt a plus
A minimum of 10 years of related experience
Requires prior experience coordinating and leading production within MRP/ERP systems as well as offline tracking tools in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of basic computer skills required
Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing processes
Prior scheduling experience is required with understanding of ERP/MRP systems and resource planning
Experience with Lean tools and executions
Able to understand and interpret technical requirements as defined within customer provided drawings and specifications
Strong interpersonal, leadership and problem solving / analytical skills
Ability to navigate Microsoft Office tools efficiently and communicate status and issues effectively within team and to management.
Writes clearly and informatively
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and labor law
Understanding of optics and experience in a globally matrixed environment
