About the opportunity
The Frankston Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a welcoming and inclusive service for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring alcohol and other drug support needs. Delivered in partnership between Wellways, Mentis Assist and Peninsula Health, the Local brings together lived and clinical expertise to create a space where people can access the support that feels right for them, close to home.
As our new Senior Peer Service Navigator, you will lead and mentor a team of Peer Service Navigators and trainees, using your lived experience and professional knowledge to guide others in providing meaningful support tailored to each participant’s needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will help foster hope and connection through positive self-disclosure, role modelling and intentional peer support.
Alongside your mentorship responsibilities, you may also support members of our community directly through one-on-one or group-based peer activities, helping them explore what wellbeing looks like for them.
This position works according to a rotating roster, including evenings up to 8pm and Saturdays.

You are confident supporting others to develop in their peer practice, while fostering a strong sense of collaboration, inclusion and mutual learning within your team and across varying disciplines.
Most importantly, you are motivated by a shared purpose to ensure everyone in our community feels respected, supported and connected on their own path towards mental health recovery.
