Join the Walmart Health & Wellness Compliance team to support the growth and expansion of Pharmacy services at the world’s largest retailer! Senior Manager – Controlled Substance Compliance Strategic Initiatives is a critical thought-leadership role that will be at the forefront of supporting Walmart Pharmacies and Pharmacy leadership. Reporting to the Director – Controlled Substance Compliance Strategic Initiatives, you will collaborate with other members of the Compliance team and Walmart Health & Wellness associates to support our pharmacies by helping to lead an effective compliance program, driving regulatory compliance, identifying potential compliance risks associated with business strategies, and establishing effective controls and compliance oversight related to those risks.
What you'll do...
- Lead and support responses to State Board of Pharmacy complaints, inspections, and regulatory inquiries involving controlled substances. You will analyze controlled substance specific risk and develop accurate, timely, and compliant responses. Ensure appropriate escalation for matters involving diversion, DEA reporting, PMP requirements, etc. and support remediation efforts following inspection findings or complaint outcomes.
- Monitor and assess changes to state and federal laws impacting controlled substances, evaluating regulatory obligations, and determining required actions. Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to document regulatory impacts, drive timely implementation of policy, process, training, or system updates, and ensure regulatory changes are appropriately tracked, communicated, and closed in alignment with compliance governance expectations.
- Serve as a SME point of contact for pharmacists wanting to discuss complicated corresponding responsibility decisions they are facing, understanding corporate policies and/or state or federal law, etc.
- Collaborate with Market Leaders to identify and remediate controlled substance compliance gaps, including driving education, training, and accountability at the market level.
- Assist with field communication regarding controlled substance compliance matters
- Partner with product tech team to support PMO submissions and drive ConnexUs enhancements aligned with compliance and business needs.
What you will bring...
- Pharmacist Preferred
- Experience in healthcare compliance, including prior experience with regulatory agency contacts
- Experience and familiarity with relevant pharmacy regulatory requirements, including federal and state pharmacy regulations and Walmart controlled substance policies and procedures
- Process-oriented and look for opportunities to streamline processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional teams within a corporate environment
- Organization, discipline, and ability manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Stimulated by challenges and have a risk-spotting mindset

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience. 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
