Sydney CBD Area Full time

See yourself in our team

The COO Core Foundations Crew sits at the core of the bank’s operational transformation agenda. We deliver foundational, reusable capabilities that underpin the future state of CBA’s operations, driving a step-change from traditional banking operations to a modern, technology-enabled operations function.

You’ll join the newly formed One Ops Data Foundations, responsible for the strategic data asset component of the strategic operations platform (One Ops).

The Data Foundations will be responsible to build a governed, interoperable, and event-driven data fabric that integrates operational data into a single logical environment. It provides authoritative, semantic, and AI-ready data for workflows, analytics, orchestration, and AI agent behaviour. The purpose of the One Ops Data Product squad is to provide a single source of truth that powers intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and decision intelligence across COO Operations.

Within this environment, you will guide the squad to evolve trusted, scalable platforms that simplify frontline and back-office operations. The role balances strategic direction with hands-on delivery leadership, ensuring roadmaps align to enterprise priorities while maintaining disciplined execution.

Do work that matters

As Product Owner, you will lead the squad day-to-day to deliver change initiatives and lifecycle activities that enable operational transformation at scale. You will drive quarterly prioritisation, manage a dynamic backlog, and define measurable outcomes aligned to strategy and customer needs.

You’ll be accountable for end-to-end value delivery—from shaping strategy and discovery through to production deployment, release coordination, and ongoing optimisation. Your work will directly influence the reuse, scalability and resilience of enterprise platforms that power CBA’s operations.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have extensive experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in complex technology environments
  • Bring strong experience across operations and compliance domains
  • Demonstrate strategic acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Have worked within agile squads or crews, ideally in financial services
  • Can analyse complex, ambiguous situations and make timely, well-informed decisions
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence and impact
  • Understand organisational risk frameworks and how to manage risk exposure
  • Bring knowledge of AI concepts, applications and responsible AI considerations
  • Apply a strong Product Mindset, including roadmap development and outcome-based prioritisation
  • Understand customer journeys, personas and pain points, aligning product decisions to real user needs
  • Balance cost, time, functionality, desirability and quality in delivery decisions
  • Have working knowledge of modern software architecture principles
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capability and a passion for building high-performing, collaborative teams
