RBC is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Next Best Action (NBA).  In this exciting role you will be a part of a Pod that will be responsible for the application of advanced analytics using “big data” to drive in-market test and learn strategies as part of RBC’s new “Next Best Action” capability: targeted, optimized offers to acquire, grow, and retain our clients.

Working with our Canadian Banking Partners, as well as key third parties, you will leverage powerful machine learning techniques and predictive models from within the Marketing Science department and run a dynamic test and learn environment – with the ultimate goal of realizing incremental revenue growth across all client segments and products.

What will you do?

  • Drive, design and help execute a rapid in-market ‘Test and Learn’ to acquire, grow, and retain our clients using all available data sources including but not limited to RBC’s data warehouse, proprietary research studies and third party external data sources
  • Work with product partners and the NBA Pod in to deliver, evaluate, and improve daily targeting in order to identify the right product, offer, and channel for our clients in near-real time
  • Recommend strategies leveraging an analytical approach to deliver objectives and achieve results across acquisition, growth and retention KPIs
  • Transform and optimize marketing process and spend to shape the future of RBC marketing capabilities
  • Develop dashboards and provide transparency of results (e.g., daily monitoring) and communicate effectively to all levels and partners
  • Execute deep dive analytics for areas within the dashboard or daily results relative to plan, forecast or targets to support the delivery of client insights.
  • Support the “story-telling” to ensure insights are delivered in a meaningful and relevant manner to business partners
  • Enable opportunity sizing and audience profiling (clients and prospects) and translate business requirements into actionable and consumable marketing tactics and insights while ensuring campaign requirements accurately match the design and build with quality assurance

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven 5+ years of experience in analytical database marketing, business analytics, big data or related marketing analytics role
  • Superior and proven experience in the application of experimental design and statistical analysis of results coupled with strong understanding of technical skills in Python, SAS, SQL, Hadoop, or Teradata 
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to creatively problem solve real world business problems and communicate complex analytical solutions in user friendly language.
  • Bias for action leading design against tight timelines and in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and interaction skills to include communications, presentation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated/proven ability to drive change and continuously reinvent

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of marketing, product management, sales, finance, pricing and risk management is preferred
  • Experience with agile ways of working
  • Master’s degree in quantitative discipline
