The opportunity:
We have an opportunity available for a Senior Manager, Group Pricing to join our Group Pricing team. Located in Sydney or Melbourne and reporting to the Head of Pricing-Partnerships, you will lead and manage the pricing strategy of a specific portfolio of clients within the Group Pricing team to deliver key strategies for the Group Insurance channel.
You will do this by providing risk assessment, product and pricing terms, claims experience analysis, assessment of how members’ insurance needs are met, strategic insights and influencing the strategy and direction that clients take on new business opportunities, future product design and other client retention activities.
To do this successfully you will:
Drive and influence the pricing strategy for the client portfolio including identifying the optimal profitable, strategic, sustainable and innovative pricing solutions that will allow the business to retain and win insurance business
Provide significant technical pricing leadership to the team, as well as broader commercial business skills and acumen
Collaborate with the Reinsurance team to develop and implement the reinsurance strategy
Prepare and/or review Pricing reports and Risk Assessment Matrix (including the development and maintenance of the client risk profile) for all material product and pricing changes for the Actuarial team’s review and approval
Ensure GMs of Distribution, Client Leads and Client Development Managers and their clients are provided with strategic pricing support and insights in a timely and easy to comprehend manner.
Assist the GMs of Distribution, Head of Product, and the Client Leads/Client Development Managers to influence the strategic product direction of our clients and provide guidance on complex pricing issues.
Ensure all pricing activities follow the AIA Pricing Strategy, sign-off & governance procedures across Actuarial, Operations, Reinsurance and Group Office (where applicable).
Lead, recruit, develop, retain and manage the team, including providing professional guidance, ensuring the team members can confidently engage with clients regularly and with high quality work
Successful applications will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualified with Actuarial Fellowship qualifications
Significant pricing experience of Group insurance products in the Master Trust/Industry funds segment
Excellent knowledge and experience of each group insurance product
An in depth understanding of the key drivers of Group Insurance business
A sound understanding of actuarial concepts, capital, profit and value measures
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven leadership expertise with the ability to motivate employees and provide constructive feedback
The ability to exercise a high level of professional judgment
