This senior manager global supply operations is part of the Global Supply Planning Organisation and has responsibility for planning a group of resources (internal or external). The role creates, develops and maintains a cross-brand supply & capacity plan for assigned resources / products, while facilitating efficient manufacturing operations for tactical horizon, according to monthly planning cycle.
This role drives the S&OE process by facilitating the relevant meetings and reviews on a weekly / monthly basis. The role is a key player in the S&OE process by leading the supply consensus meeting with sites, by providing necessary insights to support decision making.
This role is the gate keeper of the operational plan and liaison between manufacturing locations and the commercial supply chain team (governed by S&OE). Finally, the role ensures that executable supply plans are seamlessly handed over manufacturing locations internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
· Supply execution across the network: Coordinate day-to-day plan execution across internal sites and CMOs, ensuring OTIF service at or above target and continuity of patient supply.
· S&OE facilitation: Run brand S&OE meetings to review demand, supply, and inventory; surface risks and recommend actions aligned to in-market targets and product monograph constraints.
· KPI tracking and reporting: Maintain and report core KPIs (Production and release adherence, service level, backlog, OTIF, inventory value/MOH). Providing regular performance updates and action-oriented insights to senior stakeholders.
· Inventory management (DS/DP/FP): Manage short-horizon inventory targets across drug substance, drug product, and finished product; position stock to unlock efficient planning and production while minimizing write-offs.
· OMP master data: Implement and maintain product parameters and master data in OMP to drive replenishment and inventory at decoupling points and in market; ensure data quality and governance.
· Batch allocation and compliance: Execute batch allocation per base plan, regulatory approvals, and monograph requirements; execute management of ring-fenced inventory where needed and maintain audit-ready documentation.
· Capacity plan updates: Update site capacity plans monthly; align with manufacturing and external partners to reflect demand, yield, and lifecycle changes.
· Supply issue management: Anticipate and mitigate supply risks (capacity, yield variability, QA/QC release timing, regulatory events); coordinate cross-functional problem-solving and follow agreed escalation paths.
· Escalation and hypercare coordination: Initiate and support escalations and hypercare when patient supply risk is identified; drive timely recovery actions across functions.
· Inventory risk management: Systematically identify inventory risk and drive mitigation actions to avoid obsolescence risk.
· Continuous improvement and digital enablement: Contribute to automation of reporting and scenario planning; support adoption of advanced planning tools and data accuracy improvements.
· Plan Handover to sites: Ensures that constrained executable plans are seamlessly handed over to manufacturing sites.
· Scenario Planning: Responsible for developing & executing resource scenario’s to support supply decisions.
Preferred Capabilities and Skills
· Broad & deep supply chain management experience gained in a manufacturing and above site supply chain setting.
· Analytical & ability to interpret large amounts of data and find & frame the critical problems (not over-reacting or reacting on the wrong escalations and getting to root cause).
· Partnering and Collaboration - Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and collaboration among stakeholders.
· Building strong relationships with site operations management and planning teams while respecting the overall network optimization objectives
· Collaborative problem solver- understanding the overall network supply and demand dynamics, able to define the required options to remediate supply issues and assess feasibility and trade-offs of proven and unproven proposals
· Proactive mindset -- Analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems early in the process by identifying root cause and implementing corrective and preventative actions
· Strong Communicator & Influencer - confident in presenting to and communicating with stakeholders and peers at all levels of the organization in an efficient and effective way in written form, e-mail, or in person.
· Effective risk manager - scenario planning and trade off management – ensuring stable supply outlook
· Adaptable and resilient
Qualifications
· Experience: 6-8 years in pharmaceutical/biopharma/medical devices/FMCG experience, experience in supply planning, logistics, order management, production scheduling desirable.
· APICS / CSCP or equivalent certification desirable
· Lean certification desirable
