Role Purpose:

The GETC Communications Specialist is responsible for driving strategic, integrated internal communications for the Global Engineering & Technology Center (GETC). This role serves as the primary communications focal for GETC leadership, enabling clear, engaging, and consistent communication that strengthens leadership visibility, employee engagement, and a unified "One GETC" culture. The role partners closely with RTX Communications COEs, HR, Engineering leadership, and site stakeholders to deliver high-impact communications aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Communications Planning

  • Develop and execute an annual GETC communications macro plan aligned to business strategy, engineering priorities, and cultural goals.

  • Translate complex engineering, people, and business priorities into clear, engaging narratives.

  • Ensure consistent messaging, cadence, and channel strategy across GETC.

2. Executive & Leadership Communications (GETC)

  • Serve as communications advisor and execution partner for GETC Vice President and senior leadership.

3. Internal Employee Communications & Engagement

  • Lead execution of enterprise-wide and GETC-specific campaigns such as the "One GETC" culture campaign.

  • Ensure effective flow-down of RTX and Collins-wide communications to GETC employees.

4. Culture, Employer Branding & HR Communications

  • Partner with HR and Talent teams to promote people initiatives, policies, and programs through engaging storytelling.

  • Support employer branding efforts including employee testimonials, leadership visibility, and internal promotion of external branding initiatives.

  • Provide communications consultation for HR-led initiatives such as engagement surveys, policy rollouts, and capability-building programs.

5. Digital & Multimedia Content

  • Develop and manage content for multimedia formats including videos, podcasts, infographics, and digital signage.

  • Support leadership LinkedIn content strategy through inputs, storytelling themes, and engagement amplification (in partnership with RTX COEs).

  • Ensure all content adheres to RTX brand, tone, and visual standards.

6. Stakeholder & COE Partnership

  • Act as the primary liaison between GETC and RTX Communications Centers of Excellence (Media Relations, Brand & Marketing, Social Media)

  • Escalate media inquiries and crisis-related communications in alignment with RTX protocols.

  • Coordinate reviews, approvals, and alignment with global communications standards.

7. Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report communication effectiveness using engagement metrics such as attendance, open rates, views, clicks, and interaction scores.

  • Conduct post-event and campaign reviews to assess impact and improve future communications.

  • Use data and feedback to continuously refine messaging, formats, and channel mix.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field

  • 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or executive communications

  • Experience supporting senior leaders and large, matrixed organizations

  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content development skills

  • Experience with digital communication platforms, newsletters, intranet, and analytics
