In this role, you will:

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of complex underwriting scenarios, including high-risk and high-value credit decisions
  • Assess and monitor high credit line accounts to ensure adherence to risk tolerance and regulatory standards
  • Analyze financial and investment documentation (tax returns, asset statements) for accuracy, suitability, and alignment with client profiles and regulatory expectations
  • Lead loan reviews which include a complete re-underwrite of the loan file to assess the credit decision
  • Research and validate the most complex and escalated loan files to ensure programs and company polices are followed
  • Partner with other Loan Examination Specialists to meet decision quality evaluation deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of underwriting, and compliance guidelines
  • Support and evaluate servicing and resolution processes for high net worth individuals, including clients within Wealth and Investment Management, Private Bank, and Premier Bank segments
  • Collaborate with specialized business units to ensure tailored compliance and risk mitigation strategies for affluent and ultra-high-net-worth clientele
  • Collaborate with immediate peers and more experienced management to report findings and recommendations
  • Act as a mentor for less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Underwriting experience, Loan processing, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Required Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:

  • Experience in Underwriting, Loan Processing, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of underwriting experience with a background in high line assignments, including a deep understanding of Wealth Management and experience with high value credit portfolios
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience 
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Ability to interpret complex financial documents, including tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Understanding of personal and business cash flow to determine repayment capacity.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Proficiency in evaluating creditworthiness using credit scores, debt-to-income ratios, and other risk indicators.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Portfolio Management: Experience managing large or complex credit portfolios, including exposure limits and diversification.
  • Extensive knowledge of lending policy guidelines and procedures as evidenced by strong credit and compliance quality
  • Track record of proactive problem solving, taking initiative, and effectiveness in resolving complex escalations timely and decisively to meet customer expectations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, including managing a pipeline and supporting escalations while maintaining excellent quality
  • Analytical skills focusing on problem solving, process improvement and customer impact in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to organize, re-prioritize, and manage multiple priorities in-order-to meet deadlines
