As a Senior Game Artist (3D) on Minecraft Blast, you will help shape the look and feel of our Meta worlds and Core gameplay spaces. Your work will define how players experience our softened block-based environments and stylized props on mobile. This role calls for strong craft, an eye for clarity and charm, and a steady hand in guiding 3D production within the project’s creative
direction and technical limits.
3D Content Production: Lead the creation of 3D environments, props, and world-building elements for Minecraft Blast. This includes building new Core Gameplay blockers, blocky blockers, item blockers, and mob blockers, that follow our stylized shapes, clean silhouettes, and mobile readability goals. Ensure every asset supports our softened block style, vibrant colors, and overall visual pillars. Work closely with Art Directors to keep assets aligned with the tone and direction of the project.
Collaboration and Integration: Partner with game designers, tech art, and developers to ensure assets behave well in Unity and support gameplay needs. Balance aesthetic goals with performance targets, making sure environments feel alive without overwhelming small screens.
Pipelines & Delivery: Work with Art Directors and Producers on scoping, scheduling, and production flow. Deliver assets on time and at the expected quality bar. Take part in technical discussions around performance budgets, shader use, and asset structure to keep the game running smoothly on mobile devices.
Mentorship: Support junior 3D artists by providing clear feedback, sharing best practices, and helping them grow their craft. Contribute to a healthy and collaborative team culture.
Technical Expertise: Strong track record creating clean, optimized 3D assets and environments. Skilled in high-poly and low-poly modeling, UV creation, normal map baking, tileable and trim textures, and modular workflows. Comfortable working with simplified materials and stylized textures built for mobile performance.
Aesthetic Range: Able to create appealing, readable 3D art for stylized, casual, and younger- audience markets. Experience working within a softened, block-based aesthetic is a plus. Software Proficiency: Deep experience with Unity, including asset setup, scene integration, performance optimization for mobile, and familiarity with Unity Timelines for environment reveals, camera moves, or simple scripted moments.
Collaborative Skills: Proven ability to work well with tech art, level design, animation, and visual development to keep visuals aligned with gameplay needs
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with shader authoring, VFX or particle systems, or procedural tools.
Familiarity with the Minecraft game and universe, including its visual language and world-building logic.
