Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst to join our flagship Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry (LSMS) business unit within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD) Division. It is a global portfolio-based business unit, serving a broad range of industries. This position is based in San Jose, California and reports directly to the Senior Finance Director, Global LSMS Business.
How will you make an impact?
This role serves as a strategic finance business partner to global product management teams, delivering actionable financial insights that drive informed decision-making, share-gain and profitable growth. The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with FP&A, Product Management, Operations Finance, and cross-functional finance teams to align financial objectives, support strategic initiatives, and ensure delivery of annual operating commitments.
What will you do?
Serve as the primary finance partner to global product management teams, providing strategic and operational financial guidance.
Develop and deliver robust reporting, analytics, and business insights to support data-driven decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
Pressure-test business case assumptions and use influencing skills to drive alignment amongs cross-functional team.
Lead recurring business reviews with product teams, offering in-depth analysis of revenue trends, market dynamics, share performance, competitive positioning, and growth initiatives.
Partner in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to enhance forecast accuracy and strengthen revenue predictability.
Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate R&D investments and inform portfolio prioritization decisions.
Conduct pricing and promotional effectiveness analysis to optimize margin performance and commercial strategies.
Support the development of mid- and long-term strategic plans, including financial forecasts and business outlooks.
How you will get here:
Requirements
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in financial planning & analysis or related field
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Prior experience within FP&A or Controlling
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills. Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and tight time demands
• Excellent skills with MS Excel are required; Oracle, HFM/CMR, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) are preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong team building skills and the shown ability to work with a diverse group of people even if geographically dispersed
• Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
• Continuous Improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00–$168,750.00.
