Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities Supervisor with expertise in HVAC systems and building systems to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our facilities. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day facility functions, supervising technical teams, and ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. 

This is an onsite position at our Chula Vista, CA site.

What You Will Do:

Facility Operations Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other building systems to ensure optimal functionality. 
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for HVAC and critical building systems to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. 
  • Directly respond to facility emergencies and troubleshoot equipment failures to ensure minimal disruption to operations. 
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of bargaining unit technicians and contractors, providing guidance and training. 
  • Assign and prioritize daily work tasks to ensure efficient operations and adherence to deadlines. 
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among the facilities team. 

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all facility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential hazards or inefficiencies. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining system reliability and performance. 
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts to support uninterrupted operations. 
  • Must be able to respond to facility emergencies on a 24/7 basis as needed. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a university degree and 5 years relevant experience or an Advanced degree in a related field and 3 years prior relevant experience
  • Prior experience in facility management, with HVAC systems and building systems
  • Prior experience supervising technical teams and managing facility operations

Qualification We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with energy efficiency measures, building automation systems (BAS), and sustainability
  • Prior experience leading in a union environment
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), HVAC Technician Certification or EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerants a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building controls. 
  • Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and environmental compliance.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
