NIE invites applicants for a Senior Executive / Executive position in the Finance Department. The Senior Executive / Executive plays a critical role in providing payroll and claims administration support for the Institute and ensuring accurate and timely payroll posting and claim processing for all employees within the organization.
He/She oversees the payroll posting and claims administration, ensures compliance with statutory requirements, government legislation and group policies and standards, supports reporting needs and attends to queries from staff and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Manage payroll administration support including the monthly payroll postings for both full-time and part-time staff, statutory contributions and period end closing activities.
Process payroll-related payments including but not limited to education allowances, passage claims and other miscellaneous payments.
Perform finance related activities including but not limited to journal entries, reclassifications, and general ledger (GL) postings.
Ensure employee claims submissions are accurate and in compliance with group policies and standards.
Prepare and maintain regular and ad hoc requests of management reports/data by staff.
Provide payroll posting related information for internal and external audits.
Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll and claim posting.
Educate employees on payroll and claim-related policies and procedures.
Ensure the confidentiality of payroll data.
Ensure service levels and targets are consistent with standards and timeliness, and service is delivered to customers in accordance with pre-defined Service Level Agreement.
Support in various payroll and claim related projects and initiatives.
Requirements
A Polytechnic Diploma in Accountancy, Business or its equivalent.
Preferably 2 or more years of working experience in handling payroll or claims.
Some experience in finance matters, with accounting knowledge, will be an advantage.
Organized, meticulous in handling data and a service-oriented mind-set.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt, with problem-solving skills.
An effective team player with the ability to work independently is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner, able to multi-task, track and deliver assignments on schedule.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel is a must.
Experience in SAP and Ariba would be an added advantage.
