What this job involves:

JLL is hiring a Senior Director, Sourcing to lead sourcing strategies and activities for a prominent energy sector client. In this role, you will build and lead a high-performance team of Sourcing Specialists while partnering closely with the Account Director and Facility Management team to champion sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable results.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the energy sector and physical site operations, combined with established relationships across Indigenous and local vendor communities. We're seeking an innovative, solution-oriented leader who anticipates client needs and creates win-win outcomes for JLL, our client, and our supplier partners.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Drive Strategic Sourcing Excellence Lead sourcing strategies and supplier relationships that deliver measurable cost savings while maintaining service quality. Negotiate decisively to achieve aggressive savings targets. Work with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous supplier portfolios to optimize contracts and drive competitive processes.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert Own pricing negotiations, market intelligence, and supplier performance programs. Translate complex market trends and operational insights into client-ready recommendations that drive immediate and sustained value.
  • Lead High-Impact Initiatives Independently manage RFPs, contract negotiations, and strategic programs from concept to execution. Represent JLL in client meetings, business reviews, and supplier discussions—requiring minimal supervision and maximum initiative.
  • Build and Develop Winning Teams Recruit, mentor, and retain top sourcing talent. Create a high-performing team culture through visible leadership, actionable development plans, and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Ensure Compliance and Risk Management Partner with Legal and Risk Management to uphold JLL's sourcing policies, ethics standards, and contractual requirements. Drive diversity programs and Indigenous supplier partnerships that align with client and company values.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience including proven leadership roles
  • Experience in energy sector and with Indigenous vendors
  • Excellent Inter-personal skills, Organization skills, Strong Analytical Ability, Proven ability to lead teams in decentralized environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written. 
  • Project management and business transitions experience preferred.
  • Occasional travel across Canada and select US states to strengthen client relationships, conduct site visits, build Indigenous community partnerships, and support regional sourcing strategies. 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) degree, SCM certification and/or  MBA preferred

               

Estimated compensation for this position:

135,000.00 – 160,000.00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
