The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in providing legal advice, researching, and interpreting laws and regulations, and managing legal risks.

What You'll Do for Us:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel in business-related areas.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
  • Identify, monitor, and address issues of legal risk.
  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and/or approve legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies, and other documents.
  • Represent/advocate for the organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation, or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities.
  • Ensure the organization gains regulatory approval for new products and product amendments; and for maintaining the currency of product licenses and permits.
  • Ensure the organization is aware of and compliant with legislation and regulations pertaining to the business.
  • Monitor/interpret regulatory developments and determine the impact on business operations and compliance programs.
  • Implement compliance measures.
  • Prepare, review, and/or approve regulatory compliance documents.
  • Identify potential fraud cases and take appropriate action, including research and analysis of account activity to assess levels of risk, contacting customers to verify legitimate usage, and providing review and analysis of risky or exception conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • U.S. Juris Doctor degree and a practicing member of a U.S. state or international bar. Strong academic credentials required.
  • 7+ years of experience in law firm, government and/or corporate legal practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and interpret proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
  • Experience in structuring, drafting, negotiating, and/or approving legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies, and other documents.
  • Experience in representing/advocating for an organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation, or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities.
  • Proven track record in ensuring the organization gains regulatory approval for new products and product amendments; and for maintaining the currency of product licenses and permits.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure the organization is aware of and compliant with legislation and regulations pertaining to the business.
  • Experience in monitoring/interpreting regulatory developments and determining the impact on business operations and compliance programs.
  • Proven experience in implementing compliance measures.
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing, and/or approving regulatory compliance documents.
  • Experience in identifying potential fraud cases and taking appropriate action, including research and analysis of account activity to assess levels of risk, contacting customers to verify legitimate usage, and providing review and analysis of risky or exception conditions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.

Pay Range:

$201,000 - $243,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
