The Senior Director of Guided Advice leads a high-performing team of Wealth Advisors who deliver episodic and comprehensive financial planning and investment advice through virtual channels to participants across the entire spectrum, from new entrants exploring their options to highly engaged individuals navigating complex financial decisions. This leader is responsible for hiring and developing talent, ensuring advisors are equipped to guide participants through TIAA's full range of products and services while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and fiduciary responsibility. As an integral member of the Guided Advice leadership team, the Senior Director collaborates across the enterprise to refine service delivery models and enhance the participant experience at every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive team environment that empowers Wealth Advisors to perform at their highest level while consistently delivering exceptional client outcomes across the virtual advice platform.
  • Monitor client feedback, service quality metrics, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and continuously elevate the virtual wealth management experience.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and development to strengthen advisors' technical proficiency, client relationship management capabilities, and adherence to financial planning best practices.
  • Establish and communicate ambitious performance goals aligned with enterprise priorities, including specific targets for client retention, asset growth, advice implementation rates, and client satisfaction metrics.
  • Drive accountability for measurable results through regular performance monitoring, data-driven insights, and proactive intervention strategies that enable the team to meet and exceed operational objectives.
  • Champion comprehensive cross-training initiatives that build advisor expertise in advice delivery methodologies, implementation strategies, retention techniques, and client experience enhancement.
  • Partner with enterprise stakeholders to ensure advisors have access to robust training programs, tools, and resources necessary to serve participants across varying levels of complexity and need.
  • Embed a client-first service philosophy throughout the team, ensuring every virtual interaction reflects empathy, technical expertise, and genuine dedication to participant financial wellbeing.
  • Navigate the complexities of dual broker-dealer and RIA registration requirements while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, fiduciary responsibility, and regulatory adherence.
  • Model leadership presence and strategic business acumen that inspires team performance through balanced accountability, recognition, and supportive guidance.
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
FINRA Registrations
  • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63; Series 65; Series 66; Series 24
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

  • 5+ years financial services experience.
  • Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66), and 24 completed within 120 days of start date.

Preferred:

  • 7+ years financial services experience.

Base Pay Range: $144,000/yr - $190,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
