Te Tūranga – About the role
In this role, you’ll partner with our Product Management, Marketing and Engineering teams to bring new products to life and enhance the ones our customers already love. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high‑energy team that’s passionate about creating solutions that truly exceed user expectations.  You’ll play a key role in helping shape product direction, defining project briefs, and ensuring our new offerings hit the mark.
 
To do this you’ll:
·       Facilitate high-level strategic decisions through modern design thinking, data and user research
·       Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business requirements and develop solutions, that impact the bottom line and solve real user problems
·       Design digital products from understanding and brainstorming through iterative development and delivery
·       Advocate a user-centred approach in design perspective and practice across our product ecosystem
·       Set the vision of the product ensure that it is well understood and execute on that vision
·       Communicate the user experience throughout the design process by crafting compelling designs and prototypes
·       Communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually to team members, stakeholders, and execs
·       Lead workshops and facilitate stakeholders with varying opinions
·       Identify and troubleshoot UX Problems and work to solve problems with Architects and UI design teams - bringing the gap between design and build from a UX perspective
·       Keep up-to-date with competitor products and industry trends

He kōrero mōu - About you
You’ll be someone with strong digital design expertise who isn’t afraid to question assumptions and push thinking forward. As a self-starter who actively seeks ways to make the user experience both visually appealing and easy to use, you’ll have strong product design portfolio that demonstrates how you design to solve customer needs in unusual or innovative ways.
 
You’ll also have:
·       Excellent grasp of the design thinking and prototyping process, including product/interaction/visual, with the know-how to move from pencil on paper to layout to pixel-perfect handoff using tools such as Sketch, Sketch libraries, Invision, and Zeplin or Abstract
·       Experience in user testing and design research including qualitative and quantitative research, observational research, usability testing, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluation, and writing and executing research protocols
·       Expert facilitation, communication and presentation skills with ability to conduct workshops and research, clearly present your work; you are articulate and can advocate design rationale.
·       Ability to expertly partner with cross functional teams in launching new products and improvements to existing features.
·       5+ years designing for multiple platforms experience, with 3+ years as a senior visual and interaction designer or equivalent practical experience.
·       Experience in user flow creation, information architecture, wire framing and prototyping around customer needs
·       Ability and experience in conducting User testing (including User testing script writing) and gather feedback
