Job Description

About the Role

This role is responsible for independently producing and optimizing digital content, supporting email marketing operations, developing branded creative assets, advancing web projects, and helping sustain critical day-to-day workflow continuity.

The ideal candidate can step in immediately, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

S/he/they will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach.

This is a part-time (10-15 hours per week), limited-term position, budgeted through June 30, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead support for production of the institution’s weekly email newsletter, including content preparation, design, formatting, proofreading, quality assurance, scheduling coordination, and performance optimization.

  • Lead creation and refinement of newsletter templates, web templates, and digital best practices to streamline workflows and improve service to divisional clients.

  • Create, edit, and maintain webpages, campaign pages, and landing pages in Drupal, ensuring accuracy, usability, accessibility, and alignment with institutional brand standards.

  • Design digital and print-ready marketing materials as needed, including graphics, email assets, flyers, signage, presentations, and related collateral using Adobe InDesign and related creative tools.

  • Manage assigned WebDesk tickets and other digital requests in a timely and professional manner, helping triage urgent and high-impact priorities.

  • Use ClickUp project management software to track tasks, deadlines, approvals, dependencies, and status updates.

  • Monitor website, email, and campaign analytics; prepare performance summaries and identify practical optimization opportunities.

  • Apply SEO, metadata, content structure, and user experience best practices to digital content.

  • Maintain consistency with institutional brand, editorial, and accessibility standards across deliverables.

  • Collaborate with Communications & Marketing staff and internal partners to ensure high-quality, on-brand deliverables.

  • Troubleshoot routine website, email, and design issues and recommend effective solutions.

  • Help identify workflow efficiencies and opportunities to improve team capacity.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements and Experience
Required

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in digital communications, web content management, graphic design, marketing production, or related work.

  • Advanced proficiency with Drupal or comparable content management systems.

  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing platforms and newsletter production workflows.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and related design software.

  • Experience using website and campaign analytics platforms such as GA4 or similar tools.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.

  • Experience using project management systems such as ClickUp, Asana, or similar tools.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred

  • Experience in museums, libraries, gardens, higher education, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and digital best practices.

  • Experience working within established brand and editorial guidelines.

Working Conditions  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, mouse devices, and standard office equipment.

  • Requires visual acuity to review digital content, design files, written materials, and analytics reports.

  • Must be able to concentrate for extended periods while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
