Job Summary: You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEM INSTALLATION DIVISION, MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPTARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for providing project management for the government and contractor teams and providing engineering assistance in the maintenance, installation, fabrication, testing and evaluation.
  • You will serve as a Team Lead for Combat Systems Naval Technical Representative (CS-NTR) during planning, execution and testing phases of Aegis modernization availabilities.
  • You will provide oversight monitoring, and reporting status for Ship Alterations (SHIPALT), and Temporary Alterations (TEMPALT), Non-Permanent Changes, executed by the Lead Maintenance Activity (LMA), and Alteration Installation Team (AIT).
  • You will ensure adherence to safety, technical, environmental, and production process requirements. Proper completion of inspection and installation check-point records under the Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) report, as required.
  • You will provide oversight of all phases of tasking related to installations specified in applicable alteration/shipboard change documents.
  • You will ensure Quality Management System (QMS) requirements are met, perform routine surveillance check points, provide appropriate quality oversight during installation, and validate qualified/trained personnel are in place.
  • You will be developing, updating, and reviewing applicable processes, procedures and training requirements so that the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) is operating consistently across projects occurring in different locations.
  • You will review and analyze ship installation drawings, technical data packages, interface control documents and condition found reports and provide feedback to maintenance team.
  • You will analyze and diagnose faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment.
  • You will interpret circuit wiring, logic cables diagrams, drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems and equipment to understand function and interconnections and troubleshoot the system.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing the modernization and sustainment of complex maritime defense systems applying technical standards and project management protocols to lead multidisciplinary teams and resolve engineering challenges for the operational readiness of national security assets.
