Senior Data Analyst

The HubSpot Customer Success Strategy and Operations team is looking for a Strategy and Operations Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will combine deep data insights with business expertise to deliver comprehensive solutions that tackle critical challenges and enhance operational efficiency and strategic outcomes.

 

  • Provide data-driven, operational, and decision-making support to the Customer Success organization and management team
  • Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance analysis, forecasting, and business reviews.
  • Develop operational excellence metrics and performance management processes.
  • Respond to business requests, compile root cause analysis and solve common issues. 
  • Support cross-functional programs, processes, and systems to drive performance and productivity improvements

 

We are looking for people who have:

  • Academic or professional experience with a heavy quantitative, analytical focus. 
  • Results-oriented mindset; you not only run the numbers but also embrace the responsibility of executing on your recommendations to drive cross-functional impact. 
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a passion for collaborating across teams (e.g., Product, Sales, CS) and translating data into insights. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment, working autonomously to pivot quickly as business needs evolve. 
  • Passionate about the role of data in performing root-cause analyses and providing recommendations to solve complex problems. 
  • Experience using AI to elevate analytical standards and scale project execution without sacrificing rigor.
  • Ability to write performant, complex SQL queries and perform analysis in code-based or notebook environments to ensure workflows are reproducible, auditable, and efficient. 
  • Experience building commercial models (e.g., ROI, LTV) and forecasting trends to inform near-term operational decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Define (or redefine) leading indicators of success for your team. Serve as the expert for these metrics by understanding how data collection is instrumented, how it flows through our ETL pipeline and is aggregated, and how metrics are defined in our analytics platform. 
  • Construct the core dashboards, visualizations and analyses to help stakeholders monitor product health and make better decisions. 
  • Perform ad hoc analyses into user behavior to inform specific, near-term experiment designs or decisions or longer term strategy. 
  • Partner with engineering and other internal operations teams to enable a high level of data integrity, consistency and clarity across multiple internal databases and reporting systems. 
  • Be a voice within your teams to educate, elevate and advocate for the continual value of leveraging analytics to inform decision making. 
  • Navigate an enterprise-scale data environment and own the development of scalable assets that drive efficiency and data consistency.
