As a Data Engineer II, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure to support AI/ML models and advanced analytics. This role bridges data engineering and AI development, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance data systems for machine learning workflows.
This is a telecommuter position, working from home.
What you’ll do:
Data Pipeline Development:
Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
Data Architecture:
Design and implement scalable data architectures for AI/ML workloads using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Feature Engineering:
Collaborate with data scientists to prepare and transform data for model training and inference.
Model Deployment Support:
Integrate ML models into production systems, ensuring efficient data flow and monitoring.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for large-scale datasets.
Governance & Security:
Implement data quality checks, compliance standards, and security best practices.
What you’ll bring:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar area.
(2) years of relevant experience and knowledge of the software development lifecycle, relational database theory, and skills to utilize one or more programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of data governance and MLOps best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Programming: Python, SQL, and experience with frameworks like PySpark or Dask.
Data Platforms: Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, or similar big data tools.
Cloud Services: AWS (S3, Glue, EMR), Azure Data Factory, or GCP BigQuery.
ML Workflow Tools: Familiarity with MLflow, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Databases: Snowflake Data Platform, Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
Version Control & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Salary Range:
$89,300.00 - $151,800.00National Plus Salary Range:
$101,900.00 - $173,200.00*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
