Role Summary

The Senior Business Analyst (AVP) – Trading IT is responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of business analysis and functional design supporting front‑office and middle‑office trading platforms across asset classes, including OTC derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equities, TRS, and EMS/OMS solutions. This role acts as a trusted delivery partner to Trading, Product, Risk, Operations, and Technology, translating complex trading workflows into scalable, resilient technology solutions while ensuring production stability and delivery execution.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Functional Leadership

  • Own end‑to‑end business analysis for Trading IT initiatives, from requirements discovery through functional design, testing, and production rollout.
  • Lead analysis for complex trading and lifecycle workflows, including:
    • Order capture, enrichment, routing
    • Trade execution, confirmation, booking
    • Lifecycle events (rolls, resets, coupons, corporate actions)
  • Produce high‑quality BRDs, functional specifications, workflow diagrams, and data models suitable for multi‑team delivery.

Platform & Workflow Ownership

  • Serve as a core SME across key Trading IT platforms, such as:
    • OMS / EMS platforms (e.g., Minerva, TS Imagine)
    • OTC derivatives trading and lifecycle platforms (e.g., CRIMS)
    • Vendor and market integrations (e.g., FIX, Bloomberg, FX Connect, risk engines)
  • Understand and document platform behavior, configuration, data flows, and integration touchpoints across front‑to‑back workflows.
  • Support BAU stability, functional inquiry resolution, and controlled platform evolution.

Stakeholder & Delivery Engagement

  • Partner closely with:
    • Trading desks (FX, FI, Equities, Derivatives)
    • Product Management
    • Operations and Controls
    • Development, QA, and Release teams
  • Act as the functional authority and challenge function, ensuring requirements are complete, testable, and aligned to business intent.
  • Support program planning, dependency management, and delivery risk awareness.

Testing & Production Readiness

  • Define and support functional, integration, and end‑to‑end testing, with strong focus on:
    • Asset‑class‑specific scenarios
    • Cross‑system and market‑driven edge cases
  • Participate in UAT, defect triage, and release sign‑off.
  • Provide functional support for production incidents, escalations, and root‑cause analysis.

Required Experience & Skills

Core Experience

  • 12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Lead in Trading IT / Investment Technology.
  • Strong domain knowledge across:
    • OTC derivatives (swaps, TRS preferred)
    • FX (spot, forwards, swaps, rolls)
    • Fixed Income and Equities trading workflows
  • Demonstrated experience with OMS / EMS platforms and trading system integrations.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Excellent understanding of trade lifecycle management and front‑to‑back processing.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • FIX messaging and trading interfaces
    • Market data and vendor platforms (e.g., Bloomberg)
    • Integration patterns across trading, risk, and operations
  • Strong analytical ability to decompose complex workflows into structured requirements.

Leadership & Delivery Skills

  • Proven ability to operate at AVP level, balancing delivery execution with platform‑level thinking.
  • Comfortable challenging requirements and design decisions constructively.
  • Strong communication skills with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to support time‑critical production events when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting derivatives transformation initiatives or framework‑based modernization.
  • Exposure to vendor platforms and third‑party solution integration.
  • Experience working in global, multi‑location delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with operational risk, controls, and resilience considerations in trading systems.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $157,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
