As a Best Practice Consultant, you’ll partner with leaders and other teams across the company on projects and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we deliver exceptional service to our Clients through our processes and best practices. You are critical to the success of our Group Wealth Operations team, which includes our Savings/Accumulation and Payout Annuities teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong business analysis skills and a results-oriented mindset. You’re a leader who takes charge in a fast-paced environment, even when you don’t have all the answers. You have a solid understanding of project management activities. You are a collaborative team-player who maintains positive relationships with your business partners.

What will you do

  • Represent Group Wealth Operations on projects and change initiatives that impact business operations. This includes, for example, large-scale process improvements, Digital Enterprise initiatives, regulatory changes and product changes with a primary focus on base contract document impacts. You’ll support any training and change management activities required to ensure successful project and initiative implementations.

  • Manage plan sponsor and stakeholder relations to ensure project and initiative delivery expectations are specified and met.

  • Bridge the gap between Operations and IT. You’ll relay and interpret business requirements and ensure those requirements are complete. This includes considering all end-to-end processes and communicating with all stakeholders.

  • Be a change agent. You’ll train business teams on system changes, process improvements and project management tools. You’ll also lead change management activities.

  • Define, build and execute the creation and maintenance of knowledge management content.

  • Support our Savings/Accumulation and Payout Annuity tools and act as product owner for micro-automation tools. You’ll ensure the processes tied to those tools are effective. You’ll also be responsible for proper governance and risk management of the tools.

  • Lead annual and repetitive operational activities. This includes, for example, activities related to annual RRSP deadlines, year-end readiness activities, external and internal audit support.

Preferred skills

  • Business analysis skills. This includes understanding and assessing business needs, analyzing change management needs, capturing project requirements and communicating across relevant groups.

  • Proven problem-solving skills, with an ability to resolve issues and Client concerns quickly and effectively.

  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to manage change in an ambiguous environment.

  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize initiatives with varying complexities.

  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams. This includes being comfortable communicating with all levels of leadership.

  • Ability to analyze data and use results to identify improvement opportunities.
