What You Will Achieve

You will contribute to the development and application of state‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry and proteomics technologies within Drug Safety R&D, supporting the understanding of drug candidate mechanisms of action and the characterization of safety profiles for novel therapeutics. Your work will help enable informed toxicology risk assessment and support portfolio decision‑making.

You will integrate protein biochemistry and bioanalytical workflows to design and execute complex sample preparation methods compatible with a wide range of protein mass spectrometry–based platforms. Through independent execution of experimental protocols and application of strong analytical rigor, you will generate high‑quality data across multiple portfolio projects.

In close collaboration with senior scientists and key stakeholders, you will contribute to the design of critical experiments, as well as to data analysis and interpretation. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful experience in drug development and drug safety within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.

How You Will Achieve It 

  • Contribute to experimental design and independently perform sample preparation using a range of protein extraction, protein, and purification techniques for mass spectrometry analysis.

  • Develop fit for purpose assays and bioanalytical workflows, balancing scientific rigor with study objectives to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data.

  • Process and analyze diverse biological sample types, including biological fluids and tissues from preclinical species.

  • Support the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation and other laboratory equipment.

  • Assist with data analysis, interpretation, and clear communication of results.

  • Maintain scientific and ethical standards, including appropriate record-keeping, data storage and compliance.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, or a related field, with 3+ years; OR Master's Degree with 0+ years of experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team‑based environment.

  • Demonstrated scientific curiosity; well organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and effectively within a matrixed organization.

Nice-to-Have 

  • Hands‑on experience with mass spectrometry‑based proteomics, including sample preparation workflows, high‑resolution mass spectrometry, nanoLC systems, and associated instrument control and data analysis software.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as spatial proteomics, and the integration of multi‑omics approaches.


Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,600.00 to $114,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
