Senior Associate, Product Management

Chennai India Full time

Join us as we work to create a thriving ecosystem that delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.

Role Summary

Build and execute the product roadmap for the test automation platform strategy that enables reliable, automated end-to-end quality across athenaOne—covering functional, regression, UI, and performance testing. This Hybrid role is based in Chennai, India, and requires 4 to 6 years of experience. The role will report to a Product Management Director and will own and execute on key product workstreams end-to-end, including defining requirements, success metrics, and driving delivery with engineering.

Team Summary

The Test Automation Platform product team builds, procures, and maintains platform capabilities that help teams automate testing consistently and efficiently. This includes shaping platform direction, evaluating and integrating test automation technologies, and ensuring the resulting solutions support high-quality outcomes for athenaOne—specifically product quality, availability, and performance—at the standards expected by customers and the industry. The team’s roadmap aligns with developer workflows, drives measurable quality improvements through strong quality metrics and experimentation, and enables scalable automated testing across multiple testing methods, including end-to-end functional, regression, UI, and performance testing.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Own a defined product scope for the test automation platform, driving delivery of roadmap outcomes for functional, regression, UI, and performance testing within supported environments.
  • Define and track quality metrics and success criteria (e.g., defect escape rate, test coverage effectiveness, mean time to detect, flakiness trends, performance regression detection) and use experimentation to improve outcomes.
  • Drive platform requirements in collaboration with engineering—translating needs into clear requirements for platform capabilities, integration patterns, and developer adoption.
  • Partner with engineering to deliver developer-centric capabilities such as APIs, SDKs, reference integration patterns, and automation workflows that simplify adoption and improve testing velocity.
  • Evaluate test automation approaches within your product scope, selecting tools and patterns based on measurable tradeoffs such as maintainability, execution performance, reliability, and ecosystem fit.
  • Improve reliability and usability by working through operational considerations including test execution performance, infrastructure stability, and supportability, and ensuring platform issues are addressed with clear prioritization.
  • Analyze test automation results and platform telemetry to identify bottlenecks, reduce flakiness, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio of automated testing.
  • Support performance testing enablement by integrating performance testing methods/frameworks into the platform strategy and ensuring execution time goals are met.
  • Apply AI-first workflow expectations by integrating AI capabilities into test automation workflows (for example, supporting analysis of test failures, test logs, or flakiness signals) and assisting with adoption of effective practices within the team.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Support internal enablement via documentation, reference architectures, and training materials for platform usage.
  • Coordinate adoption planning with product and engineering stakeholders to improve consistency and coverage across teams.
  • Contribute to stakeholder communications for roadmap updates, risks, and progress against quality targets.
  • Maintain a competitive view of the test automation ecosystem, including emerging patterns and platform capabilities relevant to your scope.
  • Assist with governance for platform standards, interfaces, and integration practices.
  • Participate in retrospectives on platform releases and drive continuous improvement in reliability and usability.
  • Provide input to budgeting and vendor/procurement decisions for tools and services supporting the platform within the agreed plan and scope.

Expected Education & Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in product management, program management, or closely related roles involving software platforms and quality engineering outcomes.
  • Demonstrated test engineering and platform fluency, including experience supporting automated end-to-end functional, regression, UI, and performance testing approaches.
  • Experience using quality metrics, analytics, and telemetry to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvement experiments.
  • Developer-centric product thinking, with practical understanding of integrations (e.g., APIs, SDKs, CI/CD-driven test execution pipelines) that enable automation at scale.
  • Experience partnering with engineering to deliver platform capabilities and address adoption challenges and developer experience needs.
  • Experience evaluating and comparing test automation approaches using measurable outcomes and tradeoffs.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and automated test execution pipelines and related operational considerations.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
