Senior Associate, National Audio Investment

Job Description:

The Senior Associate, National Audio Investment will execute audio buying across network terrestrial radio, podcasting, and digital audio for a major CPG client. Reporting to the Director and Associate Director, you will help ensure campaigns are accurately planned, activated, and stewarded against client goals while managing day-to-day vendor communication and collaborating with internal teams to align on budgets, goals, and deliverables. You will also contribute to client recommendations and marketplace insights to inform broader audio strategies.

You should have a strong understanding of the audio landscape—particularly terrestrial and digital audio—with the ability to evaluate proposals, track campaign delivery, and support clear, data-informed recommendations. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in audio investment, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

You Will:

Campaign Activation & Stewardship

  • Support the planning, negotiation, and execution of national audio campaigns across terrestrial radio, podcasting, and digital audio
  • Issue RFPs, evaluate vendor proposals, analyze research, and build schedules and tactical recommendations aligned to client KPIs
  • Manage buysheets, pacing, delivery tracking, and optimization needs throughout each campaign
  • Negotiate rates, added value, bonus weight, and makegoods; document and resolve any delivery shortfalls
  • Assist with post-campaign analysis and delivery reporting
  • Ensure all IOs, authorizations, and campaign documentation are accurate, updated, and delivered on time

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Planning, Strategy, Analytics, and Client teams to align on campaign goals, budgets, deliverables, and requirements
  • Develop and refine internal and external decks (campaign recaps, vendor evaluations, marketplace POVs, upfront materials) and support client-facing discussions
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables across teams to maintain smooth workflow and communication
  • Collaborate with Traffic/Creative teams to ensure timely asset delivery, specs, and flighting details
  • Translate marketplace learnings and performance insights into future recommendations

Vendor & Marketplace Management and Communication

  • Serve as day-to-day contact for network audio vendors; ensure timely communication and follow-ups
  • Request and review proposals, manage IO updates, and support rate, inventory, and added-value negotiations
  • Contribute to marketplace updates and category insights to support planning and strategy

Tools, Systems & Reporting

  • Input and maintain campaign data in MediaOcean (Spot Toolkit & Prisma)
  • Use ACT1 to support planning analysis and campaign evaluations
  • Monitor billing, reconcile discrepancies, and partner with Finance to resolve issues
  • Maintain internal trackers, budget summaries, and delivery documentation
  • Complete post-buy analyses and manage makegoods process

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in media buying and negotiation
  • Working knowledge of media math concepts and campaign delivery metrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines
  • Proactive, accountable, and able to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with MediaOcean and ACT1 preferred

The annual salary range for this position is $51,000-$83,375. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
