How you will make an impact

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll join a global team dedicated to enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. As a part of Cell Biology R&D, you will lead a team of innovative scientists working to develop, optimize, and support cutting-edge cell culture tools and workflows under the Gibco™ brand.

You’ll be a critical link between product development and commercial teams, fostering scientific excellence, driving collaboration across global teams, and mentoring scientists to deliver high-quality, impactful work that helps customers better understand how to accelerate their research using Gibco products.

What you will do

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of scientists engaged in advanced cell biology research and applications development.

· Drive innovation in cell culture methodologies, with emphasis on stem cells, primary cells, and other advanced culture systems, e.g., organoids.

· Support cross-functional product development efforts by collaborating with global R&D, product management, marketing, and commercial teams.

· Identify new application opportunities and translate emerging scientific insights into actionable R&D strategies.

· Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing laboratory culture rooted in curiosity, scientific rigor, and accountability.

· Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, safety, and documentation, including ISO, GLP/GMP, and Thermo Fisher Scientific compliance requirements, where appropriate.

How you will get here

Education

· Master’s or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.

Experience

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience in cell biology, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

· Demonstrated expertise in cell culture, preferably with primary cells, stem cells, organoids, or other advanced cell-based models.

· Comfort and familiarity using a variety of downstream analytical techniques, including but not limited to fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, PCR, and nucleic acid sequencing

· Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, preferably cross-functional teams that span the globe.

· Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and develop scientific talent.
